Professor in Economics and Management at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (SSSA), Pisa, Italy with a focus on the Life Science and Insurance industries. Main research interests in the fields of the structure, organization and financing of the healthcare and long term care systems; management of health care organizations; economics and management of innovation in the healthcare sector; health economics and economic evaluation of healthcare technologies (drugs, medical devices, e-health); economics and management of insurance companies; strategic management and marketing in the healthcare and biomedical sectors; non-conventional marketing, neuromarketing, consumer neuroscience.

Member & co-founder of the Institute of Management of SSSA, of the Research Centre on Technologies and Services for the Support of Longevity, of the Research Center on European Transplantation Management (SSSA – Pisa), of the Center of Excellence ENDOCAS (on Computer Assisted Surgery) of the University of Pisa.

Giuseppe has advised at the national and international level many companies in the pharma, medical devices and insurance industries; business and industry associations; regulatory agencies; medical scientific societies; hospitals; healthcare organizations; healthcare public administrations; several Italian Ministries; the European Commission.

Giuseppe gained a Ph.D. in management at SSSA and a Degree in Economics at the University of Pisa, Italy. He is Fulbright Research Scholar at the Kellogg School of Management – Northwestern University (Evanston-Chicago, USA); Senior Fellow at ETLA (The Research Institute of the Finnish Economy), Helsinki, Finland; Coordinator of the Economic and Organizational Implications of the ERN ReCONNET (the European Reference Network on Rare Connective Tissue and Musculoskeletal Diseases), European Commission. He is the author and/or co-editor of nineteen books and of over 250 scientific papers and book chapters.
